The City of Pico Rivera requires a film permit for the production of motion pictures, television shows, commercials, and commercial still photography. Charitable and student films must obtain a permit and reimburse the City for the cost of personnel and equipment but are exempt from permit and deposit fees.

How much does the permit cost?
Application fee: $350 for Simple Film Shoot OR $700 for Complex Shoot
Processing fee: $100/day for Simple Film Shoot OR $200/day for Complex Film Shoot
Use fee: $100/day for Simple Film Shoot OR $200/day for Complex Film Shoot (Use fee charged for use of City Facilities other than streets and sidewalks. Not applicable to the use of private property.)
Applications for Simple Film Shoots can be processed in as little as (5) working days . Complex Film Shoots, those that involve traffic control, street closures, special effects, pyrotechnics, gun fire, etc.,can be processed in as little as ten (10) working days.
