Street Sweeper

******STREET SWEEPER UPDATE - 4/29/2020******

In response to the LA County Public Health Safer at Home Order, in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, the City of Pico Rivera Parking Enforcement decided to temporarily stop issuing certain parking violations, which included street sweeping, to give our residents one less thing to stress about during the COVID-19 pandemic.

However, in an effort to minimize parking congestion, maintain the appearance of our City streets and reduce trash or contaminants from entering the storm water system, clean and free of contamination, effective May 1, 2020, the City of Pico Rivera Parking Enforcement will begin issuing written warnings for street sweeping violations for a period of 30 days.

Starting June 1, 2020, street sweeper citations will be given out to all vehicles parked in violation of the posted No Parking Street sweeping signs.Should you have any questions, please contact the Parking Enforcement department at (562) 801-4413.

Barrido Residencial de Calles

En respuesta a la Orden de Seguridad en el Hogar por el Departamento de Salud Pública del Condado de Los Ángeles, la Ciudad de Pico Rivera decidió suspender temporalmente la emisión de ciertas infracciones de estacionamiento, que incluyeron infracciones de barredora, para darles a nuestros residentes algo menos de que preocuparse durante la pandemia COVID-19.

 

Sin embargo, para minimizar la congestión del estacionamiento, mantener la apariencia de las calles de nuestra ciudad y reducir la entrada de basura o contaminantes en el sistema de aguas pluviales, a partir del 1 de mayo de 2020, el Departamento de Estacionamiento de Pico Rivera comenzará a emitir advertencias por escrito por violaciones de barrido residencial de calles por un periodo de 30 días.

 

A partir del 1 de Junio de 2020, los vehículos estacionados en violación de los letreros que leen “No Estacionarse” cuando pase la barredora, serán multados.

The Public Safety Division is responsible for parking enforcement, Inoperable Vehicle Program, graffiti restitution, residential parking permits and administering the sweeper contract:

  • Parking Enforcement - The City is responsible for enforcing the Pico Rivera Municipal Code and California Vehicle Code. Parking Enforcement Officers issue approximately 2,200 citations per month, generating approximately $1,300,000 in revenue per year. This revenue is funneled back into the City’s general fund and used to fund other services, such as recreation programs and street repairs.
  • Inoperable Vehicle Program – Parking Enforcement is responsible for administering the Inoperable Vehicle Program. Removal of these vehicles from residential properties insures the city maintains a clean and safe environment for its residents.
  • Residential Parking Permits – Public Safety oversees the creation and enforcement of residential permit parking areas.

Permits may be obtained from the City's Public Safety office located at 6615 Passons Blvd., Pico Rivera during the hours of 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Please note that City offices are closed on weekends and major holidays. You will need to present a valid driver's license and the current vehicle registration on the qualifying vehicle. The address on your driver's license and vehicle registration must indicate the qualifying address.

A Parking Permit will be issued upon meeting all the requirements and payment of fee in the amount of $10.00. If you are receiving Social Security or you are permanently disabled, you may be eligible for a fee waiver. Valid documents will be required for consideration.

Vehicles parked in the affected areas not displaying a current Parking Permit during restricted hours will be issued a citation.
