Gustavo Camacho was elected to the Pico Rivera City Council in November 2009.  Prior to being elected to the City Council, Mr. Camacho served as planning commissioner for the city.

Mr. Camacho is serving as Mayor in 2020; he also served as Mayor in 2013 and 2018.  He has been re-elected twice in 2013 and 2018. 

Mr. Camacho currently serves on the city’s Water, Transportation, Economic Development, Public Safety and Housing committees.  He is a member of the Southeast Area Water Coalition, South East Area Animal Control Authority, Los Angeles County Sanitation District, Southeast Area Social Services Funding Authority and the Liability Trust Fund. 

Mr. Camacho has been representing a California based company that offers proprietary green technology, bringing Ozone based water purification, with scientifically proven general disinfection and sanitization systems to the growing "green" marketplace.  Ozone is
changing the way public spaces are cleaned for increased health and safety by eliminating the use of harsh chemicals and improving the cleanliness by eradicating both bacteria and viruses.

He believes in improving local commerce by assisting small business owners.  He continues to work with state and federal legislatures to improve our local economy. He travels to Sacramento and Washington D.C. in support of regional economic growth efforts. 

Mr. Camacho is an advocate for higher education, he believes education is the best tool for economic growth and is co-founder of several charitable, educational and business non-profits. 

Mr. Camacho attended San Diego State University where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration with an emphasis in Urban Planning and is where he met his wife Liz.  He has three beautiful daughters, Maya, Carolina and Sofia.  Maya is currently studying at U.C Berkeley.
