What programs do you offer?
Youth programming:

Winter and summer basketball leagues: open to participants ages 7-17

Spring and fall volleyball leagues: open to participants ages 9-14
 
Lil' Athletes: open to ages 3-4

Kidsport: open to ages 5-6

MLB Aquafina Pitch, Hit, and Run: open to ages 7-14

NFL Pepsi Punt, Pass, and Kick: open to ages 6-15

All-Star Homerun Derby: open to ages 19 and under

All Sports Camp: open to ages 7-12

Free Drop-In Sports: open to ages 5-12

Free Wii Play: open to ages 17 and under

Adult softball league is provided by Major League Softball. 



Do you have open gym play?
Free open basketball court hours are available at Pico and Rivera Park gymnasiums and free open tennis court hours are available at El Rancho High School. Open court schedules can be viewed here. Facilities do not provide equipment. Hours are subject to change due to non-school days, holidays, and/or City-sponsored programming. Please call prior to arrival to confirm availability.

What days do youth leagues play on?
Youth league games are typically played on Saturday mornings and afternoons with the possibility of Friday evening or Sunday afternoon games, pending league registrations. Specific seasonal youth league game schedules can be viewed here.

What is the fee for youth basketball, Kidsports, Little Athletes? What does it include?
Youth Basketball League fees:
$40/participant; includes 12 week schedule practice, 10 week game schedule, reversible team jersey and participant trophy

Youth Volleyball League fees:
$40/participant; includes 10 week practice schedule, 8 week game schedule, team t-shirt, and participant trophy

Lil' Athletes/Kidsport:
$35/participant; includes 6 week course and certificate of participation

How do I become a coach?
All youth league coaches are used on a volunteer basis. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer coach, please complete and submit the Youth Sports Volunteer Coach Application and the City of Pico Rivera Volunteer Program Application. All coaches are subject to livescan fingerprint clearance and a mandatory coach's orientation prior to league start.

When and where do I practice?
Practices are scheduled according to volunteer coaches' availability. Practices are held at either Pico or Rivera Park gymnasiums and are scheduled twice a week for one hour each. Practices are available Monday-Thursday from 5:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. Registration location does not guarantee practice location. Specific seasonal youth league practice schedules can be viewed here.

Can I request my child to be on a team with particular coach/player?
Specific requests for coaches, players, practice times, and practice locations may be made on youth league registration forms, however they are not guaranteed. All requests are granted solely at the league coordinator's discretion and are subject to availability.

How long are the sport sessions?
Youth basketball sessions consist of 12 weeks of scheduled practices and 10 weeks of scheduled games. Youth volleyball sessions consist of 10 weeks of scheduled practices and 8 weeks of scheduled games.
