The City of Pico Rivera will be hosting groundbreaking ceremonies at Smith Park, 6016 Rosemead Boulevard and Rio Vista Park, 8751 Coffman & Pico Road, on Thursday, August 16 as these parks will go through major renovations as part of the City's Parks Master Plan.
City officials will mark the start of construction for Smith Park at 9:30 a.m. and then will mark the start of construction for Rio Vista Park at 10:45 a.m. Both parks will be closed due to the construction through Spring 2013.
To commemorate the completion of Rivera Park, 9530 Shade Lane, City officials will officially open Rivera Park to the Public with a Grand Opening ceremony on Thursday, August 16 beginning at 6:00 p.m. Representatives from Rivera Baseball Association will open the ceremony with the pledge of allegiance and the Pico Rivera Donnas will perform along with the Pico Rivera Jazz Band.
The project is part of the Parks Master Plan effort to make much-needed improvements to parks and recreational facilities throughout the City.
