Individuals whose vision cannot be corrected with prescription lenses can learn how to improve their remaining sight by attending a series of educational workshops hosted by the Pico Rivera Senior Center and the Braille Institute.
Low vision rehabilitation specialists will give demonstrations and recommendations on how participants can use their remaining vision more effectively and show them other services that may help them perform tasks more easily. The workshops will provide participants with an opportunity to try special lighting and magnification devices that make objects larger, brighter, clearer or bolder when eyeglasses no longer can correct their vision.
The workshops will be held on Wednesday afternoons beginning January 9. English workshops will meet from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. through January 30, Spanish workshops will meet from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. through February 13.
