Pico Rivera Sheriff’s Station Capitan Allen Castellano proudly receives the Special Olympics Torch from fellow police officers from the Montebello Police Department during the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics.
The Special Olympics Flame of Hope was carried through the streets of Pico Rivera by deputies from the Pico Rivera Sheriff’s Station. The Flame was then handed over to Police Officers of the Downey Police Department as the Flame continued on its journey through California.
The Special Olympics Flame of Hope was ceremonially lit back in May in Athens, Greece. The flame has traveled through several communities throughout the 50 states before it was handed over for the 2015 Law Enforcement Torch Run. The Torch Run will carry the flame for 13 days to more than 120 cities and towns throughout California before arriving to Opening Ceremony of the 2015 Special Olympics World Games in Los Angeles.
