Registrations for the City’s Department of Parks and Recreation Winter session will begin on Monday, December 7. Beginning on Monday, January 11, 2016, the Winter session will kick off with classes in fitness and exercise, visual arts, adaptive recreation, teen program and more. Classes will be offered for all ages and skill levels.
The Department will offer a new culinary art class, Parent & Me Cake Decorating offered at Rio Hondo Park. Classes will cater to youth, ages 5 and up and focus on learning decorating techniques such as borders, fondants, and other accents. The cost for each class is $60 and will run for 8 weeks.
Fitness courses will be offered at various City facilities and feature a wide selection of activities including; martial arts, dance, and yoga classes. Fitness classes vary in skill level and are a perfect way to start the New Year.
The Department also offers a large selection of art classes such as a jewelry making, voice lessons, tole painting classes, and much more.
The Pico Rivera Senior Center also provides a variety of educational, recreational and social services to those age 50 years old and above. An assortment of courses including fitness, technology, and arts & crafts are offered at a low cost.
Registrations are accepted at all parks, facilities, the Department office, City Hall, and online at pico-rivera.org.
