THANK YOU Business Community
As noted in the previous edition of the Pico Rivera Profile, residents and businesses from not only Pico Rivera, but surrounding Communities came to the aid of the victims of the Corsica Apartment Fire that occurred on February 22. The fire displaced several residents and destroyed parts of the Corsica Apartment complex.
As the fire tragedy was unfolding, City Officials opened Rivera Park and designated it as an evacuation shelter. Residents of the apartments soon began arriving at the shelter while local Fire Departments worked tirelessly to put out the blaze. While the apartment residents began to arrive, so did donations from the community and businesses.
We would like to take this opportunity to THANK the following Volunteers, Businesses, and local Agencies for donating and helping out during this time of need:
We would also like to send a special thanks to Kiko’s Mexican Grill for providing the warm meals at the Shelter. We would also like to thank the Pico Rivera Chamber of Commerce for their assistance in coordinating the fundraising efforts with Chuck E. Cheese’s and Menchies Frozen Yogurt who hosted Fundraising events last month.
Donations are still being accepted on the City’s Go-Fund-Me page or gift cards from local retailers may be donated at the Department of Parks and Recreation Office, 6767 Passons Boulevard.
