Pico Rivera Youth Center Teens who recently participated in a 6-Week cooking course, put their cooking skills to the test, literally, as their final project was to cook a full three course meal for their parents.
Last month, the Pico Rivera Youth Center was transformed into a Mexican themed restaurant complete with greeters and waiters as 11 teen chefs’ prepared a Mexican inspired menu. On the menu for the evening were taco de papa, chicken tortilla soup, southwest salad, chile relleno with rice and beans, and for dessert, homemade horchata ice cream topped with a waffle cone. Approximately 45 diners including City dignitaries were in attendance to taste the wonderful creations made by the teens and Head Chef Miriam Garcia.
