Transportation
One of Pico Rivera's chief attractions to residents and businesses
is its central location. It is highly accessible via several
freeways -- the San Gabriel (605), Santa Ana (5) and the Pomona
(60). Public transportation is adequately provided by the Metropolitan
Transit Authority (MTA) and Montebello Bus Lines. For information
on bus schedules, you may log on to the MTA website by clicking
on the link provided below.
The MTA website also provides maps of bus and train routes.
Information about Montebello Bus Line schedules is available

Dial-a-Ride service
is available to elderly (at least 55 years old) and disabled

2008 Street Sweeping Schedule
City streets are swept every first and third weeks of the
month, even on holidays. Parking restrictions apply. Click

Trash Pick-up
Trash is picked up once a week on designated days throughout
the City, except on certain holidays. Collection is delayed
one day when it falls on the following holidays: Thanksgiving,
Christmas, New Year, Memorial Day, Independence Day and Labor
Day.
Color-coded trash bins are provided each household at no
cost. Black 95-gallon containers are for household waste,
blue 65-gallon containers for recyclable materials and yellow
32-gallon containers are for green wastes.

Graffiti Removal
Graffiti is considered a blight to efforts to rid the City
of its presence is facilitated through the help of concerned
residents. To report graffiti anywhere in Pico Rivera.

Shopping Cart Retrieval
Identified as a blight and health and safety hazard, shopping
carts left on public parkways and streets are routinely picked
up through a City-contracted collection agency. This service
is in addition to pick-ups provided by the different groceries
or retail stores in the City. Residents are reminded that
taking a shopping cart away from its store's premises and
parking lot is a misdemeanor offense.

Dog/Cat Rabies Clinics
Twice a year, Pico Rivera conducts rabies clinics for dog
and cat owners in the City and neighboring areas. Rabies clinics
are usually held on one Saturday during the months of June
and July. During these clinics, residents benefit from low-cost
shots and vaccinations for their pets. Residents may also
register their pets during these clinics.

Tree Trimming
Pico Rivera continues to implement a City-wide tree planting
program. Trees planted along public parkways are regularly
trimmed by City-contracted businesses. If you need trees to
be trimmed in your area, please call (562) 801-4415 or send
your request using the Service Request Form.

Abandoned or Inoperable Vehicles
Abandoned or inoperable vehicles are also deemed a nuisance
by the City. An inoperable or abandoned vehicle is defined as
one which have been immobilized and which lacks an engine or
other parts or equipment necessary to operate it safely or legally
on the street, has one or more flat tires or which is mounted
upon skids or jacks. Vehicles that display registration tabs
which have expired for more than 12 months are also considered
abandoned or inoperative vehicles. To report abandoned vehicles
