Rivera is a community that boasts a well-balanced mix of quality
homes, recreation facilities, schools,
places of worship
and a growing array of businesses that offer increased employment
opportunities.
The City has nine major parks
with a combined area exceeding than 100 acres, seven playgrounds,
a nine-hole executive golf course and an Olympic-size swimming
facility. Year-round
events and programs
aimed at various age groups are conducted in all major parks.
Several new
business parks have joined the existing business community.
Aside from a newly-constructed 40-acre business park, development
of a 160 acre business park and retail/commercial center is
underway. On Whittier Boulevard, a major gateway to the City,
a business center is now ready for occupancy while a 16-screen
theater complex will soon rise, culminating years of planning
to bring safe and family-oriented entertainment for residents
and workers.
Major freeways make Pico Rivera highly accessible. Public
transportation adequately covers the needs of the community.
The City also provides special transportation services to
its elderly and disabled residents.
