In 2010, the Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG) asked all 190 cities wihtin the region to adopt Business Friendly Principles as an act of solidarity to demonstrate our commitment to working together, to keep businesses in California, and to find ways to reduce or remove economic impediments to growth.
The City of Pico Rivera adopted SCAG's 'Business Friendly Principles' via the attached resolution. The City is committed to assisting existing busiensses within our community as well as attracting new businesses interested in investing in Pico Rivera.

The amenities include eight major parks of which in 2011 Pico Rivera earned the title of Playful City USA by KaBOOM!, a non-profit organization dedicated to building and renovating America’s playgrounds.
Recognizing the importance of Land Use to the City’s community and economic development, the City recently updated both its General Plan and Zoning Ordinance to ensure smart growth, compatibility between zoning and long range planning. Inclusive, the General Plan included an Economic Development Element and a Healthy Community Element to help formalize the City’s goals and policies.
