The City of Pico Rivera is moving closer to receiving a total of $17 million in FY23 State budget allocations for renovations to Rio Hondo Park and the Smith Park Aquatics Center. Thanks to the leadership of Senator Bob Archuleta, Assemblymember Lisa Calderon, and Assemblywoman Cristina Garcia, the City is anticipated to receive $8.5 million for much-needed renovations at Rio Hondo Park and $8.5 million for the renovation and repairs of the Smith Park Aquatics Center. The State Budget Bill (SB 178) where the funding is included is expected to be passed by the Legislature on Thursday, June 30th. The Bill will then be signed into State Law by the Governor in early July.
