Classes in the El Rancho Unified School District will be held Monday through Friday, with weekly modified day schedules on Wednesday. School start and end times vary based on the school site and grade level. Please check with your school to verify start and end times.
We are happy to inform you that this year the District will provide free lunch to all students. Meals will be provided in a bag and served to eat in the school cafeteria or outdoor dining area. Recess and nutrition periods will be scheduled, and students will be encouraged to maintain safe social distancing practices. Wearing a mask will not be required during outdoor recess or nutrition periods.
The District takes the health and well-being of all students and staff as our utmost priority. We have upgraded school facilities and have implemented the following safety protocols:
» Masks must be worn indoors (the District will provide a mask to students and
staff, if needed)
» Plexiglass shields available for students and staff
» Appropriate spacing between classroom desks
» Medical grade air scrubbers installed in each classroom and upgraded Merv-13 HVAC filters
» Directional floor and wall markings
» Portable handwashing stations
» Touchless water bottle filling stations
» Regularly scheduled and routine cleaning of classrooms and offices
The plan for returning to school in August 2021 is aimed at mitigating any possible learning loss that may have occurred due to the closures caused by the pandemic. The 2021 goals include supporting the needs of the whole child. This applies to all students, including those who are either high achieving, underachieving, and/or struggling to meet grade-level content, English learners, students with disabilities, expelled students, students in foster care, students experiencing homelessness, students who experience socio-economic
disadvantages, and gifted/talented learners.
Through the leadership of our progressive Board of Education in combination with a dedicated and experienced Superintendent, District and school site administrators, teachers and staff, we are proactively on our way to provide amazing opportunities for our awesome students. Our students will succeed!
