The purpose and function of the Commission is to serve as an advisory commission to the City Council on all matters relating to the advocacy and provision of information regarding resources available to veterans that will improve the quality of life for City of Pico Rivera veterans, their families, and survivors. The Veterans Commission will serve the City by actively helping to identify and promote collaboration between the City and programs for veterans, service providers, and other agencies in order to enhance the quality of life for the City’s Veterans community members and will be subject at all times to the general control of the City Council under the administrative supervision of the Office of the City Manager. This Commission shall hold at least one regular meeting quarterly. 

The City of Pico Rivera is seeking applications for the new Veterans Commission that was approved for formation by the City Council in March.

The Veterans Commission will serve as an advisory body to the City Council on matters important to veterans, families of veterans, and businesses in the City that are veteran-run or veteran-focused.

The members of the Commission can actively help identify and promote collaboration between the City and programs for veterans, service providers, and other partner agencies in order to enhance the quality of life for the City’s Military and Veteran community members.

Registered voters in the City of Pico Rivera are eligible to apply for the Veterans Commission.
