Yesterday, Los Angeles County Officials declared a Local Health Emergency in response to confirmed cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19) in Los Angeles County. First and foremost, this declaration is a precaution and provides the County with more resources to better assist with COVID-19.
City Officials are working with our County partners as well as our local stakeholders in monitoring this situation. Residents should rest assure that there have been no confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the City of Pico Rivera.
As we continue to work with our partnering agencies, City residents can do their part in preventing the spread of any illness by performing every day common sense hygiene practices such as washing your hands regularly, and covering a cough or sneeze. It is also recommended that you don’t touch your eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands. Additionally, staying home from work or school if you feel ill, and distancing yourself from those who are ill, will help prevent further spread of any known illnesses. Residents are encouraged to visit the Centers for Disease Control website at cdc.gov or the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health website at publichealth.lacounty.gov for more information about COVID19.
Finally, our thoughts and prayers are with those who are currently or have been affected by COVID-19.
