City Parks Open for Limited Use

City Officials took another step toward recovery by opening the City's Parks with limited amenities available.  Residents will be able to use the open green spaces and walking trails for passive use only.

The Playgrounds are now open for use as State and County officials relaxed restrictions.

Residents are reminded that Physical Distancing of 6 feet and face coverings are required when visiting any of the City's Parks.  Park gatherings are still prohibited under the current Public Health Orders.

While the Parks have re-opened, the Community Centers still remain closed.  With no physical recreation programming, the City’s Virtual Recreation social media campaign (#PRRecAtHome #PicoRiveraRecAtHome) continues to feature activities for every day of the week. Designed as a resource for our community to access 24/7 during this time of social distancing, it provides quality recreation activities meant to entertain, inspire and encourage people of all ages and abilities to stay active from the comfort of their own home.

All of the City’s suggested activities on social media can also be found in one location and accessible to everyone, even if residents are not connected with the City via social media through the City’s website here.

Activities include:

Move It Mondays – workout video links to keep physically active & healthy

Start with Art Tuesdays – links to websites featuring various art mediums

Wellness Wednesdays – links/videos to information on staying mentally and emotionally healthy

Virtual Tour Thursdays – links/videos to virtual tours such as National parks, museums and zoos

Family Fun Fridays – ideas to promote family bonding
