The Pico Rivera Senior Center will be having a month-long celebration in May in honor of Older Americans Month. Older Americans Month is a time to recognize older Americans’ contributions, highlight aging trends, and reaffirm our commitment to serving older adults.
This year’s theme is Flip the Script on Aging. The theme focuses on transforming how society perceives, talks about, and approaches aging.
To help with this year’s theme, the Center will be hosting several programs, presentations, and special events throughout the month of May. Following are those events:
Nutrition Education Workshop
Get a Taste of Healthy Eating by joining the CalFresh Eat Smart, Live Strong 4-week Workshop series. Learn more about budget-friendly eating tips; how to prepare healthy, quick meals and snacks and ways to include exercise into your day.

Building Resilience: Strengthening Your Mindset
We all have challenging events that occur in our lives, but how can we better cope with the stress of these life events? Learn tips on cultivating this valuable skill.

Craft Corner – Project: Stained Glass Art
Decorate your home with a colorful stained glass art piece you create. Step by step instruction is provided by a friendly PRSC staff member.

Senior Health & Fitness Day – 2025 theme “Move Today for a Better Tomorrow!
Health enthusiasts of all levels, join us for a morning of exercise, education and a continental breakfast. All registered participants will receive a participation t-shirt. Activities will begin with a walk in the park. Registration deadline is Wednesday, May 7, 2025. Please call or visit the Senior Center to register and provide your t-shirt size.
