Going on a Camp field trip with the City’s Teen Camp program will always be a unique experience. Summer field trips often take place at a location one has never been to, or perhaps something happens that’s just once in a lifetime. That’s what happened to teen camper Carolyn Mancina.
Carolyn and the Teen Campers were attending the Los Angeles Sparks game at the Crypto.com Arena. During one of the game intermissions, the spotlight turned to Carolyn as her face was displayed on the scoreboards as she was announced as one of the winners of a Mattel toy giveaway. She would come back to the bus with not one, not two, but several Barbie toys, some big enough that they filled up a couple of rows of the camper’s bus. Certainly, a surprise ending to a great field trip.
