The Pico Rivera Sheriff’s Station will be hosting a Catalytic Converter Theft Deterrent Etching Event on Saturday, October 14, from 9am to noon at the Pico Rivera Sheriff’s Station.
Having your license plate number etched on your car’s catalytic converter will assist deputies in locating its original owner in the event it is stolen and recovered.
Thieves go after catalytic converters because once they are taken off the vehicle, they are untraceable. This is event will provide car owners with an opportunity to protect themselves from becoming a victim.
Attendees must present ID and vehicle registration at the event. Only one car per household or business.
