Electric vehicle charging stations are now available at Pico Rivera City Hall for the public to use, providing for a greener and more sustainable future for the community.
The City recently added 12 Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (EVCS) last month to be used for the City’s electric vehicle fleet, employees who own electric vehicles, and the general public to use for their electric vehicles.
The Level-2 charging stations are located in the rear of the City Hall parking lot. The chargers will be available to the public on a first-come, first-served basis. There will be a 3-hour charging limit with a 15-minute grace period. After the grace period, a $0.50 per minute idling fee will apply. Charging fees will be calculated on a per-kilowatthour basis. To use the charging stations, drivers will need to download and use the EvGateway app, available for Apple and Android users.
As electric vehicle ownership is expected to rise with the general public and within the City’s fleet, these chargers are expected to serve an ever-growing population, making this a valuable service amenity now available at City Hall.
