High school graduations have been upended across the country due to the COVID-19 pandemic, with several schools cancelling graduation ceremonies to having limited attendance to see the graduates. It was no different here in the City of Pico Rivera, as graduates from the El Rancho Unified School District (ERUSD) had minimized attendance for their graduations; however, each ceremony was live-streamed on ERUSD’s social media channels. As a result of the limited graduation ceremonies, ERUSD came up with the idea to display 85 banners all throughout the City featuring each student’s portrait, name, and college they will be attending. The banners can be seen along Mines Avenue, Passons Boulevard, Whittier Boulevard, and Rosemead Boulevard.

It is the hope of ERUSD that this will encourage students to work hard in school, and it also lets an entire City show some high-profile support for their 2021 graduates.
