City of Pico Rivera Statement on Federal Immigration Enforcement Activity
The City of Pico Rivera is aware of and can confirm recent reports of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) conducting enforcement activities within our City. These actions have understandably caused concern, fear, and anxiety among many of our residents.
We want to be clear: the City of Pico Rivera and the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department are not involved in, nor do they cooperate or support with, any federal immigration enforcement operations. Our city remains steadfast in its commitment to protecting the rights and dignity of all individuals, regardless of immigration status. Every person is entitled to due process under the law as guaranteed by the Constitution.
We are increasingly concerned about the nature and tone of these recent actions. Reports of heightened enforcement tactics, warrantless stops, and operations that appear to target specific communities raise serious concerns about proportionality, fairness, and due process. When enforcement efforts create fear or the appearance of profiling, they risk undermining the trust that is essential between residents and their local government. Pico Rivera remains firmly committed to protecting civil liberties, constitutional rights, and the respectful treatment of all individuals under the law.

Pico Rivera is proud to be a diverse and inclusive community. Our immigrant families are a vital part of the cultural, social, and economic fabric of our city. We condemn actions that disrupt families, spread fear, and create division. This stance has not, and will not, change.
Public safety depends on trust. We urge all residents to continue engaging with City services and to seek support without fear. We encourage anyone in need of assistance or legal guidance to reach out to trusted local organizations that support immigrant rights.
We are also actively reviewing legal and policy options to better safeguard our residents and ensure that Pico Rivera remains a place where everyone feels safe, supported, and respected.

Estas acciones han generado, comprensiblemente, preocupación, temor y ansiedad entre muchos de nuestros residentes.
Queremos ser claros: La Ciudad de Pico Rivera y el Departamento del Sheriff del Condado de Los Ángeles no están involucrados, ni cooperan ni apoyan, de ninguna forma, con operativos federales de control migratorio. Nuestra ciudad mantiene su compromiso firme con la protección de los derechos y la dignidad de todas las personas, sin importar su estatus migratorio. Cada persona tiene derecho al debido proceso según lo garantiza la Constitución.
Nos preocupa profundamente el tono y la naturaleza de estas recientes acciones.
