At a City Council Meeting held last month, the winners of Phase 1 of the City’s Utility Box Art Competition was announced and recognized. Phase 1 of the Utility Box Art program was introduced last year, and it’s meant to showcase local artists and provide public art throughout the community.

Several area cities use Utility Box Art to beautify local roadways by covering the typical tan or gray utility boxes with City logos, commissioned art, or resident-submitted art.

The City’s contest for Phase 1 started in December 2022 and ended in January 2023. The City received several entries, each with a different perspective of the City through the eyes of the submitting artists. With so many to choose from, the selection committee had a tough decision. Below is the work with the artist’s names.

The winning artwork will be installed at the designated Utility Box locations later next month.
