Southern California Gas Company has contributed $1 million in aid to help small restaurant owners through the Restaurants Care Resilience Fund. The Restaurants Care Resilience Fund is a program made possible by contributions from Southern California Gas Company, PG&E, and SDG&E for grants in the amount of $3,000 to independent restaurants. Grants will be awarded to restaurants for kitchen equipment upgrades or retention bonuses.

Since 2021, the Resilience Fund has provided aid to 788 independent restaurants throughout California. The grant is being administered by Restaurants Care, a non-profit organization that was created in 2017 as a safety net for food and beverage workers.

The grant application will be live April 15-30, 2023. For more information about the program and to receive alerts and updates, visit the website at restaurantscare.org/resilience/
