This past February, the California League of Educators announced that Rivera Middle School was one of 16 middle schools statewide to earn the designation as a California Schools to Watch recipient. This recognition is awarded to middle schools demonstrating academic excellence, responsiveness to the needs of young adolescents, and social equity.

Rivera Middle School’s dedication to encouraging a supportive learning environment, implementing effective teaching strategies, and prioritizing the holistic development of its students has earned the school this prestigious distinction.

As a designated California Schools to Watch recipient, Rivera Middle School joins a prestigious network of schools dedicated to fostering academic achievement, social-emotional growth, and equitable learning opportunities for all students.

Schools to Watch is a national network of over 600 schools in 17 states, with  alifornia being the largest state participant. The California Schools to Watch program, in collaboration with the California League of Schools, and the California Department of Education, acknowledges schools that exhibit outstanding educational practices and a commitment to continuous improvement.
